Simon Community NI (SCNI) is a voluntary organisation based in Northern Ireland which provides emergency accommodation, advice and support for people who are homeless or who are at risk of becoming homeless. Simon Community NI are the largest homeless charity in NI, with 22 accommodation-based services across Northern Ireland. Simon Community NI is the only homeless charity committed to working with anyone, irrespective of their past and/or personal circumstances.
The vision of the organisation is that homelessness is ended in Northern Ireland.
SCNI are in the process of developing their new 5 year Strategic Plan and plan that they refocus their efforts to end homelessness. The person appointed to the role of Head of Income Generation will play an integral part in raising the income to allow SCNI to develop and deliver its core services – the help that they offer to the people they exist to support. This person will be a pivotal member of their team and have the opportunities to contribute to and learn from an ambitious organisation that seeks to grow and evolve.
The Head of Income Generation must bring a detailed understanding of the fundraising mix, have the ability to create ambitious and meaningful fundraising campaigns while cultivating relationships with donors, corporates, foundations and other targets. To be successful in this role you must demonstrate considerable innovation and creativity in your approach to the fundraising strategy and possess the necessary drive, energy and enthusiasm that will engage and mobilise broad ranging support for the amazing work that the charity undertakes.
The successful candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in a significant fundraising role with clear evidence of sustainable success. You will have strong people management skills and will thrive within a target driven and results orientated environment and have instant credibility when engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, key decision makers and community volunteers.
