Translink wished to make two senior appointments to modernise and reshape its Finance and Procurement functions as it embarked on an ambitious five-year growth strategy.
Clarendon Executive was tasked with appointing a Head of Procurement to transform this critical, client facing support function and a Head of Group Finance, a newly created role, to modernise the finance function and transform how it supports the organisation’s growth plan.
Both individuals needed to have the requisite technical competence but importantly for our client, each position also required commercial individuals who could think on their feet, communicate effectively, innovate and adapt. Being energetic and positive were prerequisites sought by our client.
Clarendon Executive met with the client to fully understand the brief and objectives of each role given their unique requirements.
A comprehensive search of the market was conducted for each position, supported by an advertising campaign. A number of suitable candidates were invited to participate in a thorough interview and assessment process to ascertain competence and fit.
Leadership skills were equally as important as experience so we used a specific assessment tool to assess each candidate’s leadership style – alongside the interview process this helped us secure the ‘best fit’ candidates for our client.
