Chief Financial Officer – Group Finance Director (Designate)
Our client, Lagan Investments, was formed to manage the Kevin Lagan family wealth fund, following the disposal of the Lagan Group to Breedon Group plc in April 2018. Lagan Investments now comprises an investment business focusing on real estate, private equity and secured lending. It also supports Lagan Investments’ substantial house-building and modular timber frame businesses on the island of Ireland and in GB.
Lagan Investments continues to diversify its investment portfolio, which is mainly property and construction led, to explore new investment opportunities across a range of market sectors and investment pillars that will offer solid returns. To support this growth and diversification strategy, we are now seeking to appoint a very talented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to the senior executive team who will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the various businesses deliver on their strategies.
The CFO will lead a team of financial controllers across the portfolio of house building and timber frame operating companies as well as the investment portfolio. This will include, accounting, reporting, consolidation, cash management and statutory compliance. As well as helping to drive the financial performance of the operating companies, the CFO will also play an important role in the identification, appraisal and due diligence of new capital deployment opportunities as part of the investment diversification strategy. The CFO will work closely with the senior leadership team and external advisors to ensure that accounting and tax planning, wealth management, risk management, and the administration of family trusts are all geared to deliver longer-term sustainable success of the investment portfolio.
This role is likely to be one of the most exciting senior financial appointments in Northern Ireland this year. It will appeal to an ambitious finance professional who is ready to step into a lead CFO role. The successful candidate must have already contributed significantly to business growth and success and will ideally bring strong experience in areas that may include refinancing, corporate restructuring, acquisitions, disposals and private equity. As well as being a confident decision maker, the CFO should be very accomplished in making significant investment recommendations and capital deployment decisions, based upon comprehensive financial analysis, great commercial acumen and insightful market understanding.
The organisation has an engaging and inspiring culture and collaborative team structure that makes Lagan Investments a really great place to work. The role offers a very competitive remuneration and incentive package, and further career development including the potential to become Group Finance Director. If you are excited about the prospect of working with a team of high achievers and being fundamental to how a major investment strategy is achieved, this could be your ideal career opportunity!
Our client is an equal opportunity employer. Closing date for receipt of applications is 8th March 2021.
