Director of Foundation Development
The Irish FA continues to build on significant achievements in recent years and successes have brought into focus the positive impact that football continues to have across Northern Ireland society. The Irish FA is extremely proud of the transformational work that is undertaken within its Foundation, which was established to ‘Serve the Community Through Football’. The work to date shows that football really has the power to change lives, and helps people enjoy the good that comes from taking part in team activities.
The Foundation has an increasingly important role within the Irish FA structures, particularly given its delivery in key areas like health improvement, education and employability. We are now seeking to appoint a Director of Foundation Development who will build on the success to date, and further develop the Foundation to ensure that it maximises it potential and broad ranging impacts it makes.
The Director of Foundation Development will provide visible and inspiring leadership across the organisation, as an integral part of the senior leadership team. You will work with a full range of stakeholders to further develop and implement innovative football development strategies (including Let Them Play, and Football For All), as well as leveraging resources that will provide greater access to sport. You will performance manage a team of c60 people to deliver superior performance, while bringing an output focused culture that will ensure the Foundation remains impactful and sustainable.
The role requires a degree and at least 3 years’ management experience gained within a charity, community or commercial business, in a role which is central to the development and deployment of innovative delivery strategies. It requires strong people leadership skills, strong financial and budgetary management skills, and an understanding of good governance and the grant application processes in the context of a charity.
