Finance Committee Members
Our client, Choice Housing Ireland is one of Ireland’s largest housing associations. With assets under management of approaching £1bn and annual revenues >£75m, Choice Housing makes a significant impact to its communities by providing high quality, affordable and sustainable housing and creating neighbourhoods where people are proud to live.
Choice is proud of its roots and while its charitable focus remains at the core, it is a very sophisticated and ambitious organisation. Choice was the first local housing association to receive long term funding from the European Investment Bank 3 years ago and has now embarked on a process to identify new funding for its development and group aspirations that will most likely entail a credit rating and securing a private placement. It has set a bold vision and strategy that reflects a move into new areas that create opportunities for growth - there are exciting times ahead.
The Group Board delegates its financial management responsibility for overseeing the financial management of the organisation to the Finance Committee. As a member you will provide strategic and operational challenge and support to executive colleagues on financial matters while maintaining a strong focus on the sustainability of group operations and appropriate use of charitable assets.
Members must therefore bring significant board level experience in the oversight of financial management, control and treasury functions, having contributed significantly to the sustainable success of a complex organisation while adhering to good governance principles. You will bring independence of mind, always prepared to constructively challenge, and ideally have operated in a non-executive capacity in a business, public body or charitable organisation.
Committee Member appointments are non-remunerated and require a commitment to attend approximately 6 meetings per annum. Meetings are scheduled to suit members where possible and are typically around 2 hours duration.
This is an interesting time to be associated with an organisation with the ambition, scale and resources of Choice. As a Finance Committee Member with Choice, there is a real opportunity to help deliver the significant growth ambitions of a highly respected organisation that is firmly committed and make a lasting difference to communities and society across the country.
