Re-Gen commenced trading in 2004 as an integrated recycling and waste management company and has developed to become one of Europe’s most advanced Materials Recovery Facility installations, which has processed over two million tonnes of waste to-date.

Re-Gen’s Newry-based recycling facility is ideally located to serve the needs of customers and councils across the UK and Ireland, in order to help them meet their recycling needs and achieve waste to landfill targets. Mixed waste processing is handled with best in class technologies in place to ensure European standards of recycling are not only met, but regularly exceeded.

Due to the continued growth of the business, Re-Gen is appointing a Finance Director, reporting directly to the Managing Director, who will provide a major contribution to business strategy through strong financial and commercial direction, lead on business growth balanced with a focus on good governance and assurance, effective management of the finance team and processes, identification and management of risk, assessment of potential investments and ultimately driving profitability.

Working closely with Company Directors and the Board you will take lead responsibility for the development of business plans that provide focus on growth and consider market trends, emerging opportunities and innovations. As an experienced leader you will have the communication, business acumen and problem-solving skills to operate successfully across the business, at Board level and with a wide range of stakeholders and directors.

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Financial Controller in a medium-large commercial organisation with evidence of delivering sound strategic advice and support directly to senior stakeholders at the same time as personally adding value to group performance.
  • Qualified (ACA/ ACCA/CIMA) accountant with strong leadership and influencing skills who can immediately demand the respect of colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver best practice in accounting, transactional administration and management information and to introduce improvements and manage change at all levels in the Group.
  • A demonstrable, successful track record of leading and developing a finance team to achieve business objectives.
  • An understanding of commercial and legal agreements and contracts that require strong commercial and business acumen.
